La Liga side Real Betis sign midfielder Ander Guevara from Alavés
Real Betis have completed the signing of midfielder Ander Guevara from fellow La Liga club Deportivo Alavés for a reported €4 million fee. The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Seville-based club through June 2028.
Guevara joins after making 35 league appearances last season for Alavés, helping the Basque club secure a 10th-place finish in their first campaign back in Spain's top flight. The defensive midfielder becomes Betis' first summer signing as Manuel Pellegrini's side seeks to bolster their options following a ninth-place La Liga finish that left them out of European competition.
The transfer provides Alavés with crucial financial reinforcement while allowing Betis to acquire an established La Liga performer at a reasonable price. Guevara's ball-winning capabilities and positional discipline are expected to complement Betis' technical midfielders like Guido Rodríguez and William Carvalho.
Having developed through Real Sociedad's academy before joining Alavés in 2022, Guevara brings top-flight experience with 121 career La Liga appearances. His arrival could signal further midfield departures from Betis this summer as the club looks to rebalance its squad.
