Barcelona are monitoring the situation of Borussia Dortmund's highly-rated 18-year-old attacking midfielder Samuele Inacio, according to reports from Germany. BILD, via Mundo Deportivo, claims the Catalan club have made contact with the player's representatives to discuss a potential move, which could involve a nominal fee this summer or a free transfer in 2027 when his current deal expires.
The report suggests Barcelona have proposed that Inacio would initially join the Barca Atletic setup while also training regularly with the first team. Paris Saint-Germain are also said to have made a similar offer to the teenager, indicating a growing European interest in his signature. This comes at a sensitive time, as Inacio is currently engaged in contract negotiations with his current club.
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly tabled a significant new contract offer in an effort to retain their prospect. The proposal would see his annual salary rise from approximately €150,000 to around €500,000 and include a pathway to a more prominent first-team role. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has noted that while a renewal is not yet finalized, Inacio is currently on course to extend his stay with the Bundesliga side.
Inacio, who is eligible to represent either Italy or Brazil at international level, has already made four senior appearances for Dortmund since his debut against Bayern Munich in late February. He marked his first start for the club in a match against Freiburg last weekend. Primarily an attacking midfielder, he can also operate in wide areas and has scored on his debut for Italy's under-19 national team.
Barcelona's interest aligns with a broader strategy under Director of Football Deco to identify and secure some of Europe's most promising young talents. The club has made several acquisitions of teenage prospects in recent seasons, though Inacio represents a more established target given his status at a major club and his early first-team exposure. A potential move would see Barcelona acquire a player already familiar with high-pressure environments, having debuted in Der Klassiker.
The outcome of Dortmund's improved contract offer will likely determine the next steps. Should Inacio reject the terms, Barcelona and PSG could intensify their pursuit this summer. For Dortmund, securing his future would protect a valuable asset, while for Barcelona, a successful acquisition would add another elite prospect to their development pathway during a period of continued financial constraints.
